A Day of Collaboration in the Sun at our Environmental Sustainability Course

We had lots of visitors to our course earlier this week. Food Waste, Climate Justice and collaboration were the topics discussed.

15 people are currently taking part in our new Level 4 Environmental Sustainability Course in partnership with Donegal ETB and IDP colleagues. Facilitated by Kate O’Callaghan of ChangeMakers Donegal and our regular collaborator, Aengus Kennedy of Nature North West, features our new Sustainability Passport programme enabling participants to chose sustainable actions to take which we’ll share with our wider community via our website in the coming weeks.

We welcomed Collette McEntee from the Feminist Communities for Climate Justice Project and participants from its University of Maynooth Certificate programme who were conducting a study visit which we were delighted to facilitate.

♻️Thanks also to our IDP colleague and collaborator, Niamh Britton, Slaintecare, who led a session on Food Sustainability and Food Waste. The group explored the impacts of food production on the environment, what is happening globally and in Ireland, and what actions individuals and communities can take to reduce food waste and ensure the sustainability of our food systems into the future.

No doubt some of today’s insights from Niamh will lead to new sustainable actions under our Responsible Consumption and Reuse and Recycle Sustainability Passport Routes in the coming weeks. Our Sustainability Passport programme, which forms part of this new course, is funded by Irish Aid.

️The Feminist Communities for Climate Justice project by @Community Work Ireland and the National Women’s Council of Ireland addresses the impact of the climate crisis on women and marginalized communities in Ireland.

Well done all on a great day of collaboration, learning, reflection and connection in the beautiful surroundings of Barrack Hill Town Park & Community Gardens Carndonagh.
