Three Categories

The ‘Seeds of Change’ Grant Programme enables Donegal Community Voluntary and Activist Groups to raise awareness and action around global development issues.

Under the Seeds of Change Grant Scheme 2025-26 community groups can make applications under three distinct categories: Category I – Social Justice Category II – Economic Justice Category III – Environmental Justice
We encourage projects that address multiple categories, acknowledging the reality of many local and global justice issues we are trying to address in our community. Such applications should identify the ‘main category’ under which their project falls.

Mentoring

Participation in the Seeds of Change Programme involves successful applicants engaging with a ChangeMakers mentor for guidance and support throughout the project delivery. This enables us to go deeper into how to connect the group’s local efforts to global issues in the world today. Up to 7 hours of mentoring service is provided free of charge. The assigned mentor will be selected from our experienced panel of development education facilitators.

The mentoring service exists to foster a deeper connection between global issues and local action in communities. It is moulded to suit each project and intended to support voluntary groups to build knowledge and skills and explore creative solutions for meaningful action.

What’s next?

To support groups in their application and planning of proposed projects, ChangeMakers Donegal will deliver ‘Global Issues, Local Choices’ information workshops in three different locations throughout the county, which applicants are encouraged to attend.
